Mother's Day 2023 Discount Codes and Gift Ideas

Everyone loves their Mum. She’s been there right from the beginning, changing your nappies, reading your bed-time stories, and, not least, forgiving you when you forget her birthday.

Mother’s Day 2023 (Sunday 19th March this year) is the perfect opportunity to say thanks. From a special Mother’s Day afternoon tea deal to a huge Mothering Sunday bouquet, there are plenty of options for treating Mum for less.

It's not often that you get the excuse to spoil the special women in your life, so we think it's best to put some thought into the best ways to spoil the women who raised you. We know what you're thinking; shopping for your mum is hard. Fear not, as we've compiled a fool-proof list of gifts that are guaranteed to make her smile.

Mother’s Day gifts that are guaranteed to please:

As always, the hardest decision to make on Mother’s Day is what to get your Mum. Do you go for something traditional like flowers or an afternoon tea, or something more out of the ordinary? Whatever you decide to go for, we’ve got Mother's Day voucher codes to make it more affordable.

Mother’s Day cards

This is not really optional. You need to get your Mum a card. Thankfully though, it doesn’t need to be one of those boring ones – there are other options. In fact, you can design your own Mother’s Day card online, before having it shipped straight to her. The best options for this are: Moonpig, Funky Pigeon and Photobox, where you can even put a picture of your grinning face on the front.

Mother’s Day flowers

Now we’re getting into the real options for Mother’s Day gifts. Flower sales and Mother’s Day are a classic combination for a reason: if you nail that Mother’s Day bouquet, or the selection of flowers, that shows you really know your Mum and pay attention to her. This is very much a winning Mother’s Day vibe.

Rather than traipsing down to the florist, the easiest thing to do (and usually you can get a better selection here) is to use a florist website – some of our favourites are Interflora, Marks & Spencer Flowers and eFlorist, all of which have wide selections of both already compiled bouquets and design-your-own options.

Mother’s Day lunch, brunch or afternoon tea

The final standard option on our list is a meal out for Mother’s Day. This is a good option because you’re giving time as well as money, and if you’re anything like us, then you probably don’t spend as much time socialising with your mum as you should.

There are a few different ways of doing this, with lunch, brunch or afternoon tea the three big options (Dad will sort dinner). For us, the best option is a Mother’s Day afternoon tea: it’s something a little out of the ordinary, feels traditional, and, if you organise it at a beautiful hotel, extremely classy.

Other Mother’s Day present ideas

If you’re thinking about doing something a bit different for this year’s Mother’s Day, then there are a few other Mother’s Day gift ideas we’d have a think about:

  1. Take her to a spa. Not only can you get Mum a classy beverage at a spa (Prosecco often flows freely), but she and you can also relax together. Again, Groupon is the place to go for this.

  2. Get her some jewellery. This is something where you really need to know what your Mum likes before you buy, but you can usually get some really nice jewellery with money off around Mother’s Day. H. Samuel is well-worth checking out.

  3. Buy her some perfume. This is in some ways the easiest thing to do. Your mum probably already has a perfume she wears, so you don't have to think about it too much. But, it’s also pricey, so it’ll be a welcome gift. You can usually find almost any perfume at The Perfume Shop.
