Now for the eighth year running, Amazon Prime Day is back on the 8th and 9th of October! This exclusive, members-only sale spans 48 hours and offers Prime subscribers access to thousands of discounts across a wide range of products. From electronics and home appliances to fashion, beauty, and everyday essentials, Prime Day is the perfect opportunity to score huge savings before the busy holiday shopping season begins. Navigating this busy sale season can be overwhelming, and that’s why we’re here to help. Having been in the savings industry for 15+ years, we’re no stranger to flash sales. We’re here to share the best beauty deals this Prime Day so you can save both time and money!
What is Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is Amazon’s largest annual sale. The sale was first introduced in 2015 to mark Amazon’s 20th anniversary and was such a big hit that it has continued annually (and occasionally biannually) ever since. It is a global sale event exclusive to Prime Members.
What beauty deals can I expect to find on Prime Day?
Taking advantage of the Prime Day beauty deals is what we’re best at. Although the deals are filtered by category, the choices can be overwhelming. As savings experts, we are regularly checking Amazon’s lightning deals; these deals are released prior to Prime Day to convince non-subscribers to sign up for Prime before the sale begins. As a result, we’ve got a taste of the kind of deals we can expect. Our experts have done the hard work and scouted out the best deals available right now, so you don’t have to:

Our Top 4 Prime Day Shopping Tips
As industry experts, we have seen many Prime Days come and go. Over the 8 years since its inception, it has become second nature to us to secure the biggest and most coveted deals for our customers, and the October 2024 Prime Day is no different. Here are our top 3 tips for savvy shopping on Prime Day:
1.Sign up for Prime in advance
This one goes without saying, but singing up to Prime in advance of Prime Day means you’ll secure way more shopping benefits. There are currently 230 million subscribers to Amazon Prime in the world (yes, that means $40.2 billion in revenue from Prime memberships alone), and you’re missing out if you aren’t one of them. To sign up, head to the Prime drop-down menu and select “Try Prime”. Enter your details and still experience the benefits of Prime with a free 30-day trial. You can also cancel any time!
2. Sign up for notifications & the newsletter
By downloading the Amazon App, you can pre-programme notifications for specific products and set up deal alerts. This means if an item you’ve selected is discounted on Prime Day, you’ll automatically receive an alert. We recommend utilising this tool if there’s a product you’ve had your eye on for a while – there’s nothing to lose! You may also consider signing up to the Prime Insider newsletter so that the biggest discounts are sent directly to your inbox. This could lead to overspending, so be sure to keep our fourth tip in mind.
3. Make a list of potential purchases
We’re all susceptible to spontaneous shopping every once in a while, and huge save events like Prime Day can make overspending even more tempting. To shop more mindfully, we recommend making a list in advance and trying to stick to only purchasing those items. We understand how hard that can be! But spending money on an item just because it looks like a great deal isn’t actually a great deal at all.
4. Check for discount codes for other shops
Keep in mind that the product you’re thinking of buying is likely also available at other shops. We recommend browsing the web before you make your final purchase to see if you can find a better deal elsewhere. What’s more, it’s unlikely you’ll find an active Amazon discount code during the Prime Day sale. Why not check our listings? We may have codes for other stores that sell the product that may result in saving you even more.
Make use of the Amazon Shopping AI
Amazon has announced the launch of Rufus, the new generative AI-powered conversational shopping assistant. The shopping assistant is trained in Amazon’s shopping catalogue and is equip to answer customer questions, assist with product comparisons and make recommendations. You can also ask it more generic questions such as, “How should I take care of dry skin?” and the AI tool will provide tips and advice as well as shopping links to Amazon products for dry skin.
This can be an extremely helpful tool this Prime Day; why not try asking Rufus to show you the biggest beauty deals?
Shopping sustainably at Amazon
Sale seasons can be conflicting: you want to make sure you’re getting the best deals on your new purchases whilst also being environmentally conscious. Is it possible to shop online and contribute to sustainability goals?
Amazon has recently launched ‘Climate Pledge Friendly’, a programme which makes it easier for customers to be able to identify products that are sustainable in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK. The selection features over 40,000 products in Europe that have been given one or more climate-friendly certifications, ranging from carbon footprint reductions to fairtrade items. The initiative comes after Amazon co-founded and was first signatory for The Climate Pledge, and pledged to become net-zero carbon by 2040. You can add “climate friendly” to your Prime membership interests to filter your product recommendations to only those that are sustainable.
Take advantage of the 30-day free trial
If you’re not already a Prime Member, and you haven’t had a Prime account before, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial and still access the Prime Day deals without the monthly Prime membership price tag (£8.99). However, if you want to participate in the following sale in June, you’ll need to purchase the subscription.
