If it’s not obvious by now, we’re makeup and skincare addicts — our bathrooms have more bottles and tubes than a chemist. So we were thrilled when Lookfantastic gave us a chance to try out the new Nutri-Define range from Jurlique.

Jurlique Moisturiser Bathroom

Jurlique? Who Dat?

Even though Jurlique is technically a British company, it was founded by a German couple (a botanist and a biochemist) who went off to find new botanical ingredients in Australia. How international, innit? Plus, all of Jurlique’s products are certified biodynamic by Australia’s National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, or NASAA. Fab-u-lous.

We got to test out three products: Nutri-Define Rejuvenating Overnight Cream (£76), Nutri-Define Superior Retexturising Facial Serum (£86) and Nutri-Define Multi-Correcting Day Cream (£72). According to the website, the range uses “natural liposomal technology to reveal luminous skin with a remarkably ageless look.” We’re still a few years short of 30, but we suppose it’s never too early to look “remarkably ageless”.

Getting Our Moisturiser On

Both the Rejuvenating Overnight Cream and Multi-Correcting Day Cream come with a tiny spatula. At first we were a bit confused about the necessity of such a tool, but then we read the instructions: apparently you’re supposed to use it to “apply a pearl sized amount and warm between fingertips”. Considering we’re usually a bit over enthusiastic with the amount we use, the spatula was a good way to keep ourselves in check.

These moisturisers have a lovely, silky consistency. The Day Cream is a teeny bit lighter than the Overnight Cream, and each one absorbs easily into the skin after a bit of massaging. They both left us feeling fesh and hydrated.

The serum sn’t as drippy as some are, thank heavens. It was slightly sticky during the application process, but it did have a pleasant effect we can only describe as “tightening”. After a few days of use, our skin looked overall more even and bright.

We do want to make sure to point out that all three products have a subtle but distinct scent: it’s somewhere between rose petals and freesia. We’re usually not huge on floral smells, but this scent was fresh enough that it wasn’t cloying.

Conclusion: Awesome

Overall, this range is great. The products are well-made with quality ingredients (all hail the liposomal!). We started to look forward to using them — and believe us, we can always use motivation to get out of bed in the morning.
